We are delighted to showcase floviva Wintergreen Oil, Gaultheria fragrantissima.

Wintergreen is native to the Nepalese Himalayas, occurring naturally in the southern hilly belt of the Himalayan mountain range at an altitude of 1600-3000m.

Wintergreen grows as a shrub in community forests and private marginal lands, where user groups sustainably manage resources through the implementation of management plans. For the sustainability of the resource, the collectors are permitted to harvest Wintergreen leaves in a block rotation system for two years, allowing natural regeneration. The leaves are gathered between April and October when the plant is in the growing stage and ready to be harvested. The leaves yield around 0.5% of Wintergreen Oil.

Properties, benefits & uses

Our Wintergreen Oil is 100% pure and natural, containing more than 99% Methyl salicylate, with full traceability from origin to market. Wintergreen Oil is pleasantly balsamic, pink to red in colour, reflecting its origin in the distilleries of the Nepalese mountains. The oil is commonly used in aromatherapy as an analgesic and perfumery applications, especially in forest-type fragrances and as a flavouring agent for toothpaste, chewing gum and soft drinks.
