Essential oils: The future for Nutraceuticals!

Essential oils have been used in traditional medicines and therapeutic remedies for centuries. They can be considered non-therapeutic dietary supplements used to promote general well-being.

The global Nutraceuticals market was valued at $417.66 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.9% from 2020 to 2028. Essential oils are commonly used in the Nutraceutical industry to change a product’s colour, taste and aroma. They can also add natural and organic vitamins and minerals to numerous formulations without the added cost.

Benefits of using natural aromatic and botanical ingredients in Nutraceutical applications:

  • 100% pure and natural.
  • Certified organic status is available.
  • Cost-effective as low inclusion levels are required to achieve taste profiles.
  • Many materials offer health benefits which are naturally found in fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

The market for Nutraceuticals is endless, with essentials oils being used in a variety of categories, such as:

  • General well-being
  •  Immunity
  •  Energy
  •  Joints
